SAN JOSE MUSEUM OF ART

San Jose Museum of Art - Linear Painting by Prakash N Chandras

San Jose Museum of Art

This Painting was painted when the new addition to the museum was finished. That practically doubled the gallery space in the museum. The photograph came from the post card that they sell at the museum. The picture does capture the old and the new buildings, the gothic charm of the old and the bigness of the new. The photograph was taken from about 50 yards away from near the Fairmont Hotel. However, even though, the view is perfect, the colorful statue in the front of the museum on the postcard covers the beautiful steps and the entry to the old part of the museum. So, as Monet had described how he used to move houses and mountains to make a better composition, I have moved the statue in the front of the museum few feet to the right in front of a perfect shadowed background. Also I added the windshield kind swipe across the sky to add some color to the sky.
