Glorious sunrise - Linear Painting by Prakash N Chandras

Glorious sunrise

This is the first painting that I painted using only parallel lines. I had a dream in which, Georgia O’Keefe showed me her ‘in progress’ work that was all made out of parallel lines.  Soon after, I realized that, it was my dream, my image, from my subconscious and she (Georgia O’Keeffe) had never painted a painting using only parallel lines. Ever!

The subject came from a sunrise that I had experienced after being up all night on a camping trip. The sunrise was truly spectacular and the New Mexico village with the church was just the right setting for me to try the linear image. It was  very similar to what I had seen in my dream of Georgia O’Keeffe, that I remembered so completely. The sun had risen on the field of Linearism. My first (and the very first), linear style painting!
